From Disparity to Fairness: Legal Access in Newham

Needs assessment
A needs assessment is a process for determining the gaps between current and desired conditions. Needs assessments can be used as part of planning in order to clarify problems and identify appropriate solutions. With the help of the Public Law Project and Fieldfisher LLP, we have created a bespoke report to identify the issues facing the Newham legal advice sector.
Methodology
Evidence and data were gathered by a variety of means including:
-
Conducting surveys with advice organisations;
-
Observing both MP surgeries and caseworker appointments; and
-
Collating publicly available data from the National Audit Office, the Office of National
Statistics, Citizens Advice, and Trust for London.
