However, the borough also faces many challenges, including access to justice. Inequality is rife, and many residents are currently struggling with housing problems, insecure work, low wages, and immigration issues.
Legal advice providers are overwhelmed with demand, and we are committed to addressing these issues to create tailor-made solutions to provide effective legal advice throughout Newham.

What is a needs assessment?
A needs assessment is a process for determining the gaps between current and desired conditions. Needs assessments can be used as part of planning in order to clarify problems and identify appropriate solutions.
Why a needs assessment?
Although London-wide legal advice needs assessments have previously been produced, there has never been one tailor-made to Newham. We believe that assessing the situation on the ground will lead to more specific, productive solutions.
